I want to explain that the filters themselves are AMAZING! I was sent the shower head as part of a product review program and I love it. One day I might switch to the hand held version because there have been improvements. However to me this is a luxury item. The instructions for the filters, though, almost had me drive to the store and buy a standard shower head and forget the whole thing. I was livid because I followed what was printed. My filter kind of fell out as I removed the cover so there was no “put the new one in just like the old one came out”. I followed instructions initially. And it resulted in a filter that pulled apart because it was inserted incorrectly-per the directions. Then I had to fish out the part that was stuck in the shower head and hope it wasn’t broken or damaged. Then some of the contents of the filter spilled-everywhere. Thankfully on a cleaning day but none of this should have happened. It boils down to sticker placement on product. If your instructions tell the user to insert a filter in a way that requires sticker removal after insertion then the sticker should be on the correct end and it wasn’t. Now I have less filter than I should and I’m mad that nothing went as easy as it should have. The filters are great. I didn’t notice so much of a skin difference as I did with my hair when I started using it and when it ran out I KNEW. The water just felt wrong. It is worth it as long as SecondShower labels those filters correctly! The third photo is the end you SHOULD see when inserting the filter into the main body of the shower head and before you reattach the cover. It’s the only way you’ll get it back together. Notice there is no sticker on the correct end.
Absolutely love second shower, it feels with the water pressure I am at a spa, also the water gets so clean, the only drawback is the filer gets dirty too fast but other than that its fantastic

How is this different from a basic shower filter?
Most shower filters use carbon (KDF), which loses effectiveness within weeks and can't guarantee 99.9% chlorine removal across the filter's life. Second Shower uses food-grade Vitamin C — the same ascorbic acid hospitals use for dechlorination. It neutralizes chlorine through a direct chemical reaction, so removal stays at 99.9% from Day 1 to Day 120. Our PP sediment filter is also independently certified to NSF/ANSI 42 standards — that costs $15,000–$30,000 and takes 6–12 months. Most brands skip it. We didn't.
Will it lower my water pressure?
No. 176 precision micro-jets distribute the flow evenly across the spray face, so you get full coverage at standard residential pressure. Most customers actually describe it as feeling stronger because the stream is more focused. If you're in a low-pressure home, the spray geometry is designed to compensate — no booster needed.
How long does the filter last?

What does NSF/ANSI 42 certified mean?
Our filter has two stages. The PP sediment filter is independently certified to NSF/ANSI 42 — a third-party standard for particulate reduction and material safety. The Vitamin C gel matrix handles the 99.9% chlorine removal, tested independently at real shower conditions. Two different mechanisms, both verified by labs that aren't us.
What is the Truth Window — what am I supposed to see?
It's a transparent chamber built into the filter housing. You watch filtration happen in real time: sediment, rust, and heavy metal particles collect in the upper chamber as your water passes through, and the white Vitamin C powder gradually clears as it neutralizes chlorine. No marketing claims required. You see exactly what was in your water — and what isn't anymore.
My skin felt drier in the first few days. Is something wrong?
